Written 2nd February 2008.
I’ve never been anywhere apart from this cold grey room, looking out between cold grey bars onto the cold grey countryside. I don’t do a lot. Maybe pick at blocks of dull, tasteless colour that are supposed to be food. Maybe watch a new inmate stumble in – they’re so full of life and conviction at first, it’s funny how that drains away in a matter of days. It’s funny how fast their soul can drain away.
I’ve never been anywhere; I haven’t moved from this spot all my life.
